Pamela Green Nealey was born in Chicago, IL. She moved to Atlanta at age 22. While in Atlanta she had many programs for empowering young ladies to be strong and heard.
Dear DIVA (Dynamic, Intellectual Virtuous and Admirable) was her first group for girls ages 14-18, Pink Diamonds was started because she saw the loss of confidence started at a young age and when she moved to Manhattan, KS, she continued with girls 3rd-8th grade.
Both of these programs included etiquette, public speaking and a "Sister Circle" to name a few. Pamela saw that girls cared how others saw them and were trying to change who they were to be liked. Some were being bullied, some were being weight shamed and some just did not have the confidence needed to be her best self.
After working with girls for 30 plus years, Pamela would talk to the girls to see what she could do to help them feel good about themselves. The answers were...show me how to make friends, I am tired of being bullied, I wish I could lose weight or gain weight.
Her programs seemed to help build their confidence but the one program that she found really worked was working with a group of girls for about 3-4 years, each year we would prepare a Fashion Show to raise funds for the organization she worked for.
These ladies now grown continue to say, the fashion shows empowered them, so she decided to bring it back to life.
